A Moment In Time

Hi there Friends.
I have had a busy week...I am sure you have too.
I have not played at Color,Stories,Inspiration  for ages! I loved the colors this week.....
My title was inspired by Bird is The Word......moment.

 

I used small brads,flowers,stitching,scallops,owls.

I have documented 3 important things and 5 less important things.

My journaling reads.

Trivial Facts.

1.You loved playing aeroplane,I would stretch my legs up high and you wouldbalance on my feet.

2.You were fearless. You would hang upside down like a bat on the jungle gym at school.

3. My Mom bought my blue silk pyjamas from China.

4.Photo taken at 28 Lynnwood Cabana.

5.I still wore 2 earings.

I am very happy that this L.O. is done especially since this photo has been lying in a box for almost 29 years!!I

I was very inspired this week by Shimelle and her video 2 For The Work Of 1 at  2 Peas in a Bucket

So while my stash was out I made another 2 L.O....You will have to believe me on this, I am only going to show you the second one as I got a little modelling paste on the photo of the 3rd L.O...

Give this a ty it is well worth it especially if you have photos waiting to get scrapped!!

A Little Colour To Cheer me Up.

Hi there dear Scrapbooking Friends.
I am back and I have been moping around.....So last night I thought I would make something colourful....and just enjoy the process....
Here is my tag. I would have loved using the new Prima Doll stamps, but as I have none I had to use the next best thing, a dressform. I did however cut my manilla paper a little larger than the standard #8 tag.
The pink roses I made ages ago using coffee filters and Cosmic Shimmers.....

I do believe that the people over at Simon Says Stamp and Show, want to see some colour..so guys here we go, Cosmic Shimmers for the roses and Ranger Dabbers for the tag....the teal is the new Distress Paint, I used a tiny bit inder the dress-form.
The Gals over at Get Creative want a tag this week...here we go ladies.
And before I log off I want to quickly show you my W page for the The Craft Barn Dictionary Challenge
I chose the word WOMAN, we were challenged to use circles. I used scrap scrapbooking paper. This page has been ready since Monday, I was contemplating if it was good enough to show the world...here goes...

Another Week Flies By!

 

Hello there.
This is my L.O. for Color,Stories,Inspiration. I saw the picture for Case File 62 I immediately thought of my crazy Scrapbooking Friends....The only thing that is missing from these dancing ladies is  a pair of scissors in their hands!

Last week we had a Carnival Karaoke Crop in Athens, we made a mini in a large matchbox,we sang, we danced and we ate of course!!
Katerina and her team from Scrapbookers in Greece did a fantastic job at organising the event....thanks again we all had a fantastic time!
This L.O.is all about some of the fantastic friends I have made through scrapbooking...thank you Ladies for the fun times we have together, you inspire me, you teach me, you are a true BLESSING!

2 New Projects.

Hi There..
I had shot his photo of my dining room table, two weeks ago for WOYWW, but I never ever got to uplaoding..my life has been hectic and my PC up to S#$%!!! It only logs on to the internet  when it feels like it! Today is a good day..so hello..here I am.
Luckily I have this good, old, strong table and it serves as an extension of my desk..here I am preparing kits for my workshops in South Africa...see previous post, 2 Workshops in South Africa

 

Please excuse the glare photo was taken in the wee hours of the morning...this project is a cute mini album made with Crate Papers, using the On Trend Collection. It measures 10 x15 cm

 

Be prepared to get messy with the second workshop..we will be using all types of media...
here is a sneek peek at one of the pages...papers used here are The Watfarer Collection from Bazzill.
The format for this mini is 16 x21.5 cm..

I am looking forward to meeting some of the South African Scrapbookers.

Hi there friends...
I can't believe that it is so long since I last posted...
I have been very busy planning for my trip to South Africa...more of that in my next post.
We had a crop here in Athens yesterday...more of that at the end of this post...
I need to uplaod this L.O. for the CSI Case File # 61 before the deadline tonight...

This photo was taken the last time all 3 of us sisters were together....4 months before my Dad's death...and when I was reading through the testimony prompts..I was totally inspired by Quill Takes Flight poam, What Can The Dead Do?
So here is my my take..
I have a butterfly,some gold detail,some rub-ons..(hate the one on my photo!) and a bit of stretch lace(fabric, I hope!)

And just because I can I combined challenges with the currant challenge at Get Creative...oh by the way they loved my "Lovebirds" L.O. ...makes me happy.
Anyway we had to scraplift a DT member...I chose Irini because I love how she mists and colors her pages with such confidence!.....I still hate my ink spots!!!
And she has white space....I am still looking for mine!

And here are Elina and I ..dressed as big Picasso Boobies  (I knew that damn handle was sticking out...anyway.)

LOVE......

Hi there Sweet Friends.
Today's post is dedicated to my Darling, Husband, Panos....
My husband of 32 years and good friend of 35 years.....

 

Panos has and still encourages me in all of my endevours...he is always there to council me and he is always my best critic when it comes to my hobbies...
To say that I love him dearly is little......The hardest thing that I have had to do in my life is to live far away from him....that is our currant situation....we hope that things improve in Greece ....
These photos were taken last month when we managed to spend 3 days...alone....the last time we had taken a holiday together was in 2008!
This L.O. was inspired by C.S.I. a Big thank you to Debbi and her DT for always grabbing my attention!

For evidence I have wood, metal,string, jewels and eyelets...my testimony is written on the tags.
I have written about how great it was to getaway, one on one and spend quality time with my D.H..and how much fun we always have together!...

This "Love" theme was inspired by my very Special and Sweet friend Katerina and her team on Scrapbookers in Greece, thanks ladies for the fantastic company and all that you do for scrapbooking in Greece....we have come a long way in the past 3 years!

I am sure that you have guessed that my title reads "love" in Greek writing....thank-you Sfragidomania for always meeting our demands here in Greece...

Good Morning Dear Friends.

Another Wednesday has rolled by....I want to thank all the people from The Stamping Ground that have left me comments last week..
Pop over to Julia's blog to see what they are all up to today...
It is a cold and miserable day in Athens...I have been art journaling like a crazy person...although last night I started on a Lay-Out for CSI I am so happy to be on their Watch List  for my love Birds L.O.this week! (see previous post)
 Next to my L.O. is my An A to Z of Me journal...I am so happy doing their daily prompts.....here is some of my work. What you see there is the J page the word was JOURNEY.

Here is the H page....Humour... Technique: stamping with fruit or veggies...I used an apple, a quince and a lemon.

I for Interest.......  Technique: Alcohol inks on embossed metal....I left my butterflies plain as the colour of my soda can was perfect for my page..(And I had coloured flowers with alcohol inks last week)

J for Journey ...Technique: Spray paints covered with cling film...

Lots to say today...

Hi there Scrapbooking Friends.
As you can see from my previous post I have caught the Art journaling bug, big time.....I have been journaling for a while now, it is my kind of therapy...and my journals have been private....but I am so motivated by An A to Z of Me.. I thought I will share...
But first a L.O.
I have used the lovely sketch from Sketches with a Twist... the colors scheme and all the bits and bobs are from my favourite CSI Case File #57..

SWAT wanted us to use texture paste so I used snowflakes so that I could also enter this L.O. in the Get Creative challenge.
I eventually used my BG fabric brads that I have been hoarding as that was one piece of evidence needed, as well as leaves and birds...
My testimony is scattered around the page. My rub on reads "The years go by and love grows with each memory we make" And 'We always have fun times together!"

This  G page for the An A to Z of Me was inspired by Natasha May's Big Hair Girls.....I first used a plastic doilie for a mask..then I started playing with drippage....my red was not runny enough!...I will definately make more big hair girls...I had such fun!

Art Journaling Like Crazy!!

Hi there Dear Friends...
As I said on facebook, my poor L.O. has taken a back seat..my CSI  L.O. has been 90% finished since Tuesday....I have been on a Journaling high!
 As I told you in my last post it is all Eleni's fault..she digs up all of these challenges, and then we want to play too...
I am very late for the V word on the Alpha Challenge , but when I heard letter V from Eleni I knew I wanted to art the word VENERATE....this page is inspired by an embroidery my Gran embroidered for the church when I was a little girl...I would admire it each Sunday at church......I stamped with gold using my own hand-carved stamp and I wrote the Jesus Prayer and the Hail Mary as backgrounds...So here it is anyway.

 The next page is for An A and Z for Me....I like this challenge as it is very inspirational...and I am going through a difficult patch at the moment so this site is just what the doctor ordered!

And I am sure  that my Husband told them to choose F for fitness...he nags me each and every day that I need to get away from my desk and go and excercise!!

So note to self....

The first layer of medium on this page is all of the scrap pieces of paper that were lying on my desk....they make for beautiful texture!

Creating in Chaos WOYWW 192

Hi there dear Friends...
The question yesterday was do I tidy up, or do I just shove everything back a little and create???
I am shameless to share my untidy desk with you today on Whats on Your Workdesk Wednesday it is a close-up so you don't see the chaos!!
As You can see I chose to create!!

You can spot, some hand carved stamps, some hand-made flowers inspired by The Gentleman Crafter.
The colourful book you see is an altered dictionary, my first page...I got jealous when I saw my friend Eleni's lovely pages...she is playing at the Craft Barn doing the Alpha Challenge... I chose the word ETHNIC for the letter E.....I have a coupleof pages to catch up, but that is fine...

I am a little Greek girl that was born in Africa... and yet I feel thatI am a Hippie deep down...were it not for my hubby I would be dressed in long flowing dresses, with wild hair and lots of beads around my neck!!! The second two do happen!

My King and 13 Love Tips

 

Hi there.....I.have been missing for a while.....I am back with a L.O.for CSI:Color,Stories, Inspiration

This is for Case file # 56....

My Hubby is my king and after 30 years of marriage I have 13 good tips for love.....I have 13 little hearts in the packet, with statements like."Love is Kind " Love is humble" Love is frienship"ect...let us also not forget Corinthians1:13.....

Back to CSI...I have srtring ,something dangling and a packet of little bits (hearts) for my evidence.

And, my testimony is 13 points for a good marriage...written on the hearts.

My papers and most of my embellishments are from Pink Paislee"London Market"..I have been hoarding them for ages!!!

WOYWW 189 and Feelings About A Crop.

Hi there..
Today I will not show Julie and her hoard of followers my desk,because it is the dumping ground of the aftermath of a very successful crop and week-end with scrappy friends...
Lucky for me I have my old dinning table 4 meters away from my desk and this is it today....

Two projects from the Athens crop that we attended on Saturday...Our one project was sewing a beauhootiful felt owl patiently cut by Puccarina, she put together 50 kits all of her own!
The second project was a shabby chic mini inspired by Donna Downey  This amazing kit was put together by Katerina and her energetic and very talented DT of Scrapbooking In Greece.
The next photo is of the spoils of the week-end! Secret Santa and  precious RAKS from special friends.

Before I log off I would like to say a big thank-you  to Katerina for co-ordinating this very successful event, I mean the girls had even printed stickers for the packets and bands for the scrap-buckets on each table!
Katerina, you, and each and everyone on the SIG team did their bit, I know that each and every one of you gave a little extra and I do not mean just of your precious time, but also money out of your pockets, to make our kits nicer and out experience at the crop more special.

Sweet 16

Hi there Girls.
Another quick post....I have a scrappy friend over for the day....I have just finished a L.O for CSI so I thought I would share.
This is my sweet Niece Athina.

All of the paper embellies are from Michele's free printables on CSI.
I used most of the evidence, even though we only need to use 2...flowers, metal, pleating, texture paste, scallops,cupcakes and a teacup.
For my testimony I mention how Athina is entering a new phase in her life now that she is about to turn 16....

Just by the way the photo was on Athina's Facebook page, she had used an app to change it up...I just copy/paste and printed it.....Athina I hope you do not mind, but this was my only option seeing that you live so far away.

Some hand-made embellishments

Good evening, from a very cold Athens.

It has been freezing here so I have been cocooning and creating...

I made the flowers and the butterflies..these are packed in two packets for 2 special ladies and they will be some of the prizes for the lucky draw at the Athens Crop on Saturday!

The metal birds were a find at my local toy shop they are made by Artemio. The foil flower is embossed and it was a lesson on Miss Arts Paper Crafting School....the other flowers are made out of up-cycled vellum..thanks Roula and some tulle...I added the feathers...I am hoping that these will match the Shabby Chic mini album that we are going to make with Katerina

I am very excited because 50 ladies from all over Greece will be meeting on Saturday for a full day of scrapbooking fun, the best will be that I am going to meet lots of cyber buddies in person!!

So I bid you goodnight so that I can go and pack my Secret Santa gift...( Santa will make a special late visit!!)

CSI No 52

PHOTOS ARE NOW ADDED TO POST...

This morning I actually  sat down and made a L.O. My first in over a month...as you all know my Dad passed away and I think my mojo disappeared too....
I always enjoy CSI challenges and this week is their birthday week so pop over and take a look. Lots of fun stuff going on!

This is my take on the challenge, I used some photos taken by me on Christmas Eve.

Evidence:
I used string, craft paper, tags, eyelets, washers and numbers...
My testimony, was handwritten on the tags and at the bottom of the page.

Seeing that blogger will not allow me to upload photos today I have made a video instead..

WOYWW 187 Binding Disaster!

Hi there dear Bloggers..

It is Wednesday the 2nd  of January 2013......Wishing you all a very happy New Year!!
I gave up making resolutions long ago...I try my best each day and deal with what comes my way...
Last night I thought I had this $#@% Journal all wrapped up!! I am  doing Shimelles' JYC but mine took its own path, as usual....
As you have seen from pevious posts I had started this album at a class given by FLO from Atilolou Flo Designs at PACS paris...no link as I am a little cheesed off.. I gave no heed to basic album structure and construction (Thinking that she had it all worked out!)... I just went ahead and glued down. the papers and pages....turns out covers and pages are the same size...and I did not have enough spine movement or space so the pages were just popping off the spine as they turned!!!
Late last night I thought I solved the problem...this was my desk this morning!!

I let it sit...late last night I was not thinking clearly due to New Year celebrations..I thought my problem was solved by hot glueing in one of Tims.. binding rings....boo hoo pages popped out of book.... obviously as they are the same size as covers!!! Pop over to The Stamping Ground to see more desks.

So I ripped out the binding rings.....vigourously!!

Here you can see the last 2 pages of the book that I had glued down in Flo's class...I came home and re-inforced the binding with my sewing machine...just as well I did not do the rest of the pages...or else my spine would have torn!..my pages do get a bit chunky I must confess...that is why I always do my covers last....
So this is how I left things...to think a little and to post this post....I know I need to go and see how much I  can trim off already finished pages!!  Oh bother!

WOWW Wednesday 186

Hi Bloggers...
.( I have just posted this.....and I have now clicked it is Thurday not Wednesday......excuse me I have been on an emotional roller coaster these past few weeks.....I could erase this post...but I am not! Julia I hope its ok????Let me know if not...)
Yip, you don't hear from me in ages and here I am again the next day....
As you know it is Wednesday...a little late in the day, but still Wednesday nevertheless....here is my desk pretty much as I left it last night.

 

You guessed correctly it is My Christmas Journal...yes it is very much behind, I think the last completed page is the 10th....Last night I cleared my desk, from the clutter caused by Raphaella's journal, see previous post and video....took out my journal stuff...looked at it, looked through some photos on the camera and went upstairs, to my PC.........
Today I took a photo of the mess and I am back on my PC..to sit back and check out what the rest of the world is up to....if you also want a look pop over to the Stamping Ground

Seasons Greetings.

Is the classic Greek greeting for days like these, meaning "Many Years"

Hello there I wish you all of the best for this Festive season and may you all have many, many more with your loved ones!
Yes. I have neglected you all these past weeks, yes these weeks have been difficult and I was not feeling up to much....and yet life is such that in amongst the sorrow we also have joy....
My little Grand-son celebrated his 1st birthday, I saw my brother after 2 years...he needed to sort out some of my late Dad's affairs.....No, I did not put up our tree, I did however take out my Nativity figurines and some angels....and no the JYC journal is not up to date....mojo out the window!!

However, my daughter Raphaella had asked for a journal for Christmas, so that she can take with her to South Africa, she left today for a 5 month Patisserie course at Prue Leith so I had to pull myself toward myself and get cracking!!

I made Raphaella her journal and a workstation,with drawers for little notes, tags or photos, a holder for a pen and pencil and a place to keep her journal.
I used papers from Nectar Creations for the journal, they are digital and are designed by my sweet friend Nektaria.
I made this project in a big rush, so I did not have time to go and print the papers in a 30cm x30 cm format, so as to cover the folio as a result I married 2 sheets of IOD papers with the Memoirs Journal Kit.

The floral paper on the spine is IOD designs. Details of custom dyed seam binding.
