Greek Orthodox Traditions,Candles for the Holy Light

Hi there my Scrapbooking Friends,
Today I want to share with you these three candles that I made for my nephews.
Let me first tell you why we have candles for Easter. At Midnight Mass the priest comes out of the alter with the Holy Light (see here ...amazing!) chanting "Christ has Risen" This Holy Light has been delivered to all Orthodox churches throughout the world....We take the light home and light our oil lamps, and try to keep it burning for as long as possible.
As in all things these days, candles  have become very commercialized and the shops are filled with fancy candles! God-Parents usually buy one for their Godchild, and as I have baptised my nephew I make a candle for him and his two brothers each year...
The boys are getting old now, Peter is almost 15 and and the little one almost 10..so I kept the candles very simple this year....ok ,I was also challenged by Simin Says Stamp and Show to show a Tim Holtz technique.

I used Tim Holtz, Lost and Found Salvage Stickers, for Peter's candle he loves movie making and has help do the lighting at the school plays so I used two vintage theatre tickets on his candle, I mounted them onto cardstock first and the distressed and inked them.
For Nicholas's candle I used the bookplate from the Tim Holtz Tag die,  I cut grunge paper, then I embossed with Broken China distressed embossing powder, then I inked with Vintage Photo. I used the Alphas from the Salvage Stickers, and then finished the whole thing off with a good slick of crackle medium...metal elements are alcohol inked..
On the last cadle for Andreas I used the soda pop stickers that I glued into old bottle tops...
That is it for now.....I also want to tell you that I will be streaming again next week on Zeffy Scraps on Tuesday and Wednesday at 21H30 GMT+2
I wnat to take to wish you all a very blessed Easter full of forgiveness, love and hope....
God bless
Love.
Zeffy,
