A receipe in a box!!

HI there ladies.
I hope that you are all having a great summer, mine has been hectic!! In amongst the heat and the going and comings I managed to finish Eleftherias receipe box. Lena organizes a mini swap on Scrapbookers in Greece and the swap for June was all about receipes. I asked Eleftheria to give me carte blanche for this project, and I used one of the 2 boxes that I have been saving for this reason.
The box is black and fuschia,so that pretty much dominated my colour scheme. I used whatever papers I had at home ,using mainly the Tiffany Collection for the outsides of the box.

I printed on the cards and then I mounted them onto black card-stock,which I then decorated.I also painted 6 pieces of chipboard and used them to make section dividers,,,on the back of each divider I added a pocket for notes.
I decided that the cards needed to be protected  so I cut plastic A4  sleeves to size and used 2 of the original sealed edges and I sewed the 3rd edge closed on my machine.
Here is an example of a completed card. Please try the receipe its quick and delicious and really
Yummy on the second day!!!Enjoy
See video on previous post.
Lots of love ...stay cool

My Challenge for the Cyber Crop.

Hi there busy Ladies.
As you know from my previous post, we are having a Cyber Crop today at Scrapbookers in Greece
I was asked by Irini to do one of the Challenges for the day.
I decided that seeing that I was born In S.Africa and that the World Cup Soccer is being held there, that I would challenge the girls to do something Ethnic, and current as well as to make their own embellishment. I have done one or two do it yourself goodies on my USTREAM show. So this is my challenge for the girls... some details

I would also like to give Dimitra Tsanos some credit here, she is Costas' sister and she designed the place -mats and the shops' calling cards.See info about Kozis it has delicious streaks!!
enjoy the crop girls!!!

Challenges

Hi there ladies.
As most of you know we have been very busy here in Greece this passed week. My friend Irini is organising a crop that is being hosted on Scrapbookers in Greece The Cyber Crop will be on Saturday and this week has been full of pre-crop challenges.
We had to make tags using stamps and inks for the first challenge . The second pre-crop challenge, which was the best for me, was to only use, one photo, one sheet of paper, and one pen. I loved what the girls did take a look...amazing what one can do with limited resources!!!
I would like to share my two entries.

Have fun scrapping.....talk again later...

Hi there ladies, I have been so busy thay I am turning into a night owl!!
I have done a couple of streamings on USTREAM...I am having fun and I think that I am entertaining my fellow Greek Scrappers with my bad Greek! Either that or else they are teasing me big time! Whatever....at my age all that matters is that I am doing what I love doing and I am enjoying the journey.(( maybe too many I..s in that sentance! ))

Anyway yesterday I made a couple of tags, I had promised my sister that I would send her some to have for her gifts. My son left for South Africa this evening on a long-awaited trip that his dad had promised him. My Hubby believes in bribing the children and he had promised Michael that he could go and visit his buddies once he completed his degree....well thats done and the good news is that he passed all his subjects and the degree is now his!!! And so he enters into another phase of his life....my baby.

U-Stream

Hi there ladies,
I have been thinking of this idea for a while now...we do not have anybody streaming scrapbook shows in Greek,so I thought that I would give it my best shot. Even though my Greek is not perfect I can share a few of the things that I have learnt about scrapbooking over the past 2 years. Click here to join my friends  (on Chat) and I, having some fun time together...I will be on U-Stream live tomorrow at 19h30 and I will be making a photo album for my sister Val. This is a very basic album, an excellant item for beginners to attempt.

Before I close I would like to mention that my Greek may not be perfect but I can read Greek so any questions in Greek will be answered to the best of my ability...as for my English speaking friends please join us too  the more the merrier!
Lots o love till tomorrow evening

Sisters

Hi there Ladies.
These past two weeks I have been suffering  from loneliness.....two of my children are out of the house at the moment . And my middle sister Val has gone back home to South Africa!! So this morning I did a L.O. of us three sisters...Val, Vickie and I

We were challenged at Scrapbookiers in Greece to make a L.O.using hand -made flowers. I made my flowers on Friday . I used papers from Sarahs Cards' January kit . The papers are Lily Bee, Vintage Poppy collection. The quote about "live.laugh and love" was used by Cathy in one of her lay-outs.
That's all for today....
Happy Scrapping

Photos of Guest Book

Hi there Friends.
I have edited the rest of the photos of the Guest Book. I had shown you the front pages in an earlier post.
As I have said  the majority of papers are from the new Prima collections namely Pastiche and Shabby Chic...I just loved the papers the moment I saw them. Anyway being in Greece one has to think ahead because we need to order via the net. As I tend to do things at the last minute I did not have enough paper!!!So as usual I had to think of another plan ,and as you can see I combined a sheet of Mariposa paper and some other Bazzill I think it is....not too sure it was in my stash for a while.
I also used my new Martha Stewart border punch that was fantastic,as well as the Monarch butterfly from M.S.
If you have any questions about the construction of the book feel free to as me, I am also willing to show anybody that is interested how I bound the pages together and how I covered the book.

Enjoy and keep well.

Girls just want to have fun!!

A
I have just spent a wonderful evening with my two daughters....the boys all went of for a bit of a bachelors pary .
So we stayed home just the 3 of us...Faye tried on her wedding dress, Raphaella worked out how it all buttons up as I may be slightly flustered on The Day!! We decided on ear-rings  that she should wear.We then had some lovely Chinese take-outs with some wine.....As you can see we rounded off our dinner with some Tequilla shots, while working out programmes for the day and  finalizing final, finer, details
No scrapping for the next week or two...but I love it anyway!!
We are busy listening to Brian Adams ,Rod Stewart and Sting. Are  they not just tooo amazing?
P.S.photos are taken with the cel phone,so please excuse the quality!!!
Bye for now.

Big Star!

As you all know I am busy with the guest book for my daughters' wedding. So you can imagine my horror when the cutting plate of my Big Shot cracked last week!!! I was hysterical, I phoned my friend Katerina,as I needed a shoulder to cry on.....imagine I had panicked so much that I had forgotten that I also had the long cutting plates, Katerina reminded me about them. Anyway I used the long cutting plate once, but, it was too much of a shlep to run those long plates through the machine, so I decided to use the broken one anyway, I thought that I would use it until it cracked into two pieces!  Well guess what I cut and cut and the book is just about done and the cutting plate survived the ordeal, crack and all!
So I thought that this evening I would pay homage to my dying cuttung plate that stood the test of time.
Ps. you can also see a couple of the pages of the guest book in the photo.Let me know what you think......
Good- night I hope you all have a good week.

Pre-wedding days wizzing by!

HI there Ladies.
This is a short post to tell you that yes I am still around, but very very busy catching up on things that I have to do before my daughters' wedding. These past 4 weeks have beem a bit of a set-back but I am getting around very slowly now, although this snail pace is frustrating me!!
As you can see from all the lovely goodies in the picture above, I am busy making the Guest Book for the wedding. Its turning out just fine I am halfway now and the front cover still needs to get made. I dont know if I will give you a sneek peek as I kind of want it to be a surprise.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank my friend Katerina and her partner Effie from Sfragidomania.for customizing the samps I needed for the book and for the wedding favours and for making me the die cuts of the couples' initials exactly as they were on the invitation. Katerina also designed and cut out the date and names  for me.Sfragidomania designs  and cuts chipboard and stamps to order.
I wish you all happy scrapping, I will post again when I get another chance.
Keep well.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Blessed Easter and my we always remember that Jesus and the Holy Spirit lives within us.
I need to hobble off to check out Raphaella's breads that have just come out of the oven!!!

My Front Page

Hi there Ladies.
I have had a very busy two weeks. Not much scrapping happening at my house these days. but nevertheless I decided to sign up for Shimeele's class Something from[almost] Nothing anyway ,as she promises that we can complete this course anytime.....I will complete this book after "The Wedding". Last week we were away for my Mother in Law's memorial service and I  decided it was a perfect time to make the cover of my book "Celebrate Life".
It is Spring in Greece and on the island of Lesvos the mountains and fields are full of beautiful spring flowers,I tried to capture that feeling in my drawing.I wish I could draw better!! I had my pencil crayons with me and this is what I drew on aquarelle paper.I also cut out some words from a magazine

As the whole objective of this course is to use up what we have stashed,I did just that. I am a squirrel of note I HOARD!!!I believe in re-cycling so the hoarding takes on gigantic proportions, to add insult to injury scrapping supplies fall short in Greece and are almost non existant so I also keep things that I may be able to alter and use.....sorry I am rambling now!! Anyway I have a pile of shopping bags that I was planning to use as pages for albums,so I used the smaller ones for this book(I have bigger ones for a 30x30 album too!!)
So here are the pages, now that I see the photo, I thnk I should iron the paper first. It is going to be a post bound album.

The paper on the back cover is from my decoupage stash and it has been  in my paper folder  for about 10 years, dont you just love the South African Louries and King-Fishers??
Have a lovely Saturday, don't forget to celebrate life!

Secret-Santa or Fairy God-Mother?

Today I received a parcel from Weezie. I was totally overwhelmed by such kindness!! Weezie was my Secret-Santa back in December on Life on the {Scrap}Beach and she posted me a stunning gift. The parcel had all sorts of things in it, amongst which were some beautiful note books and folios that Weezie had covered. I was thrilled  to own something created by her,as Ihad  always admired Weezies  "Amazing Albums"(Minis). A couple of weeks later Weezie mailed me and told me that she found the lovely Mariposa paper on sale and that she had bought some for me.
Ok I was expecting a pad or two.......but wow today I received this huge box of  goodies.I loved the paper .But I was thrilled with all the hand made roses made with the Que Sera-Sera Papers.are they not just too stunnung?

This is Weezies beautiful card all Glimmer misted and please notice the re-cycled buckle.

I opened the tissue paper last, and in that was this beautiful Concertina Box to match the books which she had sent at Christmas. I think that it is absolutely perfect, please note the little feet, they are huge dew drops!!!

Thank -you Weezie for this amazingly generous gesture, I feel as if I have had a visit from my Fairy God-Mother.
May God bless you.
